HW# 6 Bright

1. There are lots of people surfing a net of social networking sites. They are talking with their friends, play games, or watching the funny videos, and so on. It's very interesting.

2.Well, I don’t use the social networking sites. But, I think one day I will surf the social networking sites.

I saw a bullying video. A man was kicking a girl, and she was crying loudly. She was scared ,and so was I.

3.Yes, I have applyied Facebook account few days ago. So far, I have not asked my friends or my parents into my friend lists. I think my parents don’t like me to play it because they feel it can waste my time to chat with friends.

HW# 6 Max

There are two third schoolchildren using the social networks, for example, facebook, msn, Google + and yahoo messanger.

Although almost parents say that spending so much time on the net is not good, I think it is not bad to use the social-networks. I can use Facebook to share my secreats with my close friends and play some games there, too.

I don’t have any experiences about bullying. Ha, I never bully others because I think it is wrong.

I have never seen any people were bullied in my life. I live in a safe place. That is wonderful.

I use facebook, but my parents don’t use it. In addition, Mom thinks it is bad for me, so she don’t say “NO”, so I only surf the net when my mom doesn’t notice me . This is my big secreat.

HW#6 Shine

I think more than two third of teenagers are using the social network because I do the survery in my class. There are four fifth using it.

When I was the sixth grades of elementary school, I saw one of my classmates is bullying another boy. I was so afraid at that moment, so I did not know how to do, and then I just ran away. But, I think I was wrong then. I should tell my teachers what they did.

I use Facebook, too. It is fun because I can chat with my friends and play games there.

1. I think more than two third students to use the social networks! Because most of my friends play Facebook, only one doesn’t use the social networking sites.

2. Yes.I was bullied when I was in the elementary school. At that moment, I ignored them without any reasons. But, they hide my workbooks, notebooks, pencil case, and shoe…,etc.

3. Yes,I have Facebook, yahoo and google accounts. But, my parents don’t have any accunts. They think ok if I use them. My parents and I use the same accunt, and we can share our secreats each other. My parents know myfriends on the list,so they don’t worry about me.

I think the teenagers who live in the city are useing social networking more than that amount because the kids like to play computer games or chat with other often.

For example: Only one student in my class doesn’t use the social networking sites.

2. The study says that 12 percent of teens have experienced bullying in the past 12 months.

Have you……..happened?

I saw it when I was in the elementary school. After coming to junior high school, I think bullying is a very strange thing. I never saw or hear it happened again. Teachers in my school are all nice, and they always tell me how to protect us, like to tell teachers or call the antibullying line. Besides, teachers will punish the students who were bullied others. So, my school is a safe place.

I think the bully is terrible. The bullies will threat other students , and the victims are afraid not to tell their teachers or parents. They think the teacher and parents can not protect you for 24 hours.

3. Are you on any……networking?

I also use the social network sites, too.

I set my parents facebook account into my friend lists, but I seldom play it. I don’t like to play it, and I don’t know why so many people like to play it.

My parents feel tired after work, so they will surf the net for a while. But, they think if I spend too much time surfing the net, they will not be happy. They think we need to study hard and get a good grade.

1.I think the social networks are very popular in our life. And maybe some people make friends by way of surfing the net. But, maybe some of peoples just play the online games on it.

2.I don't have experienced bullying in the past 12 months.So I don't know what process of it.But I think it was really bad.

3.Idon't use the social networking sites, so I don’t know if my parents use it. My mother thinks the social networking site isn't good. Because she think the people will cheat others, they pretend their ages or genders or marriages. Then they will lose their money or evreything they had.

HW#2 Anja

I think the most appetizing Taiwanese food is sweet glass rice dumplings because it's delicate dessert made with twice-steamed rice flour.
The least appetizing food for me seems to be coffin bread because it's poured in with creamy seafood and I don't like it.
I don't have my favorite food but the most I like to eat in McDonald's and chinese restaurant.

I don't like squid stuffed with risotto, because I don't really like eating any seafood at all.
My favourite food is Pizza. I've had it with my family at home :)

1. The most appetizing thing for me are sweet glass rice dumplings because I like desserts. I also like the ingrediens, especially twice-steamed rice flour. I would like to try it.

2. The least appetizing thing for me is baked black pepper pork because I don't like to eat pork and pepper. I think that it also doesn't smell good. I don't want to try it.

3. My favourite food is spaghetti. I like it with minced eat. I ate spaghetti yesterday with my dad. We made it at home for dinner.

I think that the most appetizing thing is the baked black pepper pork because it looks delicious and it has tasty dough with meat.
The least appetizing food seems to be a stinky tofu because it's served with chili sauce and I don't like burning things.
I don't have a special favorite food. I like to eat pizza, McDonald's, chinese food and other delicious things.

My favorite food is lasagne. I had it a couple days ago. I was eating it with my mom in a restaurant.

Sweet glass rice dumplings look very delicious to me. Well mostly because I like sweet things and I didn't like anything else on the menu. Well when it goes for the food I am really picky.
The least appetizing thing for me in the article is definitely stinky tofu. I would never even try it.It looks disgusting for me. :)
My favorite food is steak. Last time I ate it was last week I ate at home it with my familiy. :D

1. I think that the most appetizing thing that was described are deep fried prawns, because I like sea food. I think it's quite delicious, because I like the ingredients, especially prawns.

2. The least appetizing thing for me is stinky tofu, because I don't like the name and I don't like to eat tofu, because I don't like the taste.

3. My favourite food is tortilla. I eat it once or twice a month. I ate it yesterday with my friends in Mexican restaurant near school.

1: I like baked black pepper pork, because it looks like Kebab and I like kebab.
2: I don't think that stinky tofu is good, because it smells bad.
3: My favourite dish is kebab. I ate it 2 weeks ago with my friends. I realy enjoy eating it. I was at the bakery, which is the property of one of my schoolmates' uncle.

(4): Kebab isn't realy slovenian food but it gains popularity amongst the people, because it's cheap and tasty.

1. The most appetizing thing there were the Sweet glass rice dumplings. I think so beacuse i really like sweet things, and they look nice.

2. The least appetizing thing i saw in there was the stinky tofu. I think it doesnt look good beacause its green, and things that are green usualy dont taste good. Example broccoli. And it stinks so i dont like it.

3. My favorite food is calamari. Last time i had it was about 2 months ago when i was at the seaside. There was my dad, his cousin and his kids, and some other friends. I was in a restaraunt at the seaside.

1.) The most appetizing thing in my opinion is barbecued food because I have already eaten it. We often make it at some parties or something like that. The sweet glass rice dumplings look good too, but I don't know if I will ever taste them.

2.) The least appetizing thing I think is stinky tofu, because it doesn't look good.

3.) I have many favorite foods. But for example I like fishes very much which we ate last Sunday at home with my dad and mom.

Baked black pepper pork looks realy good and i wish to try it. In Slovenia we have almost the same thing but we put in some lettuce and some sauce. It is caled kebab and its not Slovenian food but is Turkey national food. It is junk food and is realy good.

I think that stinkey tofu isnt very good, but maby i will try it some day. It looks bad cause its served with chili sauce, cabage and carots.

The least appezizing thing is rice/Taiwanese sausage, because I don't like sausage and it looks bad taste. I would never eat something from that menu.

My favorite food is Mexican food. I had it a couple days ago. My parents were eating it with me at home because we make it ourselves.

1.Let visually-disabled children learn as the normal children. And let them live the truth life. Although they can’t see anything, they can use their mind to feel this world. They will have a wonderful future.

2.In my country, the government sets the schools, roads, restrooms, parking lots and the guide-tile for the disabled people. It helps them to live a convenient life, and they don’t need to worry about too much things just because they cannot see anything. And the givernmnet gives them some work.

3.I think if I am blind, the life for me will be inconvenient. If I am a visually-disabled kid, I can’t not go out everyday. Because I cannot see anything , I don’t know where to go. It will bring some troubles for my family and my friends, but I will use my mind to mface the future happily. Although I can not see, my life won’t be limited. I have a great dream, and I believe it will come true. Ican’t be beaten.

1. They build a garden school for the visually-disabled children. The visually-disabled children can feel things by touching. They also experirence the growing vegetables, tire trace, small stones, and soil. They help them a lot.

2. There was a special edudition school near my house. The school helps the disabled children, too. It was built 3 or 4 years ago. The school was beautiful and huge. I think they can live in the world after they learn something at the school.

3. If I am a visually-disabled children, it would change my life. Maybe my friends will keep me away because I look so different. And my family will sympathy for me. I don’t like the sympathy, I want to live by myslef.

1.-The garden can help visually-disabled children to have an independent life and help them feel things by touching. They also can listen to music and learn to play the music. This is so fun, and it can help them get along with people in the future.

2.-Our government help the disabled children build schools for blind and deaf. Guiding dogs and the blind bricks help them, too. And there are a lot of people would help them on the road.

3.-I think the visually-disabled children can open their minds to accept others help because no one wants to become disabled people. We would like to share my love with them, they will live more happier than now.

4.-I want to ask my penpal : Can you speak Chinese or can you write Chinese? Do you like music? Our school have music team. And you? Do you have them, too?

This garden helps them to have an independent living life.

They can experience to walk, plant many species of plants.

And the garden also train them to overcome many difficulties in the life.

In my country, there are many facilities for visually-disabled people, such us braille, accessible toilets, guide dog, etc.

We have a school for blind people in Chiayi.

The facilities at the school can help them to live independently.

Although the facilities are very good, they need to care. They want to learn how to live by themselves. So, we can take care of visually-disabled people and help them often.

1. How does the garden help visually-disabled children?

The visually-disabled children walk in the garden by stakes or stones. They try to teach the visually-disabled children how to walk safely.

They also grow vegetables on the farm to help children feel the soil and vegetables. There are some flowers in the garden where is a good place to smell and to stay.

2. The garden is one example of the government helping disabled people. How else does the government help disabled people where you live?

In Taiwan, we help disabled people by the braille or blind trail.

The braille helps the people, who are blind to read the books by fingers touching.

The blind trail helps them how to walk on the road.

3. What do you think it would be like to be visually-disabled? How do you think it would change your relationships with your family and friends?

I think my family will be very sad for me, and they will take care for me as much as they can.

But if I am in the school, my friends will not do so much things for me, and maybe they will laugh me or trick me.

Shine

The garden is a cozy place which builds the small hard roads and wood stakes. They also try to plant some the sence as well as grow vegetables. In Ljubl jana's government help visually-disabled. I think visually-disabled people can acceptance my help, like comb their hair and feed them some fruit.

My governmnet also builds some eqipments for the visually-disabled people, like the non-barrier space, stairs and elevators.

1.The garden help the visually-disabled to learn how to walk on the road. I think it is good for them for their life if they want to go to the road in the future.

In addition, how to walking on the road and to overcome the problems is very imporrtant for them because it can help them to learn some new things.

2.In Taiwan, the government builds the barrier-free toilets for the visually-disabled. They can use the toilets easier than the normal ones.

3.I think if I am a visually-disabled person. My life will not be convenient because everyone needs to take care of me. And my family will be very tired of me.

Assignment 5, a garden built for visually-disabled students

Okay. I actually found something else that I found interesting about a garden built for visually-disabled students in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where your student's penpals are from.

Turkish authorities had delivered many tents and tried to solve the problems since the earthquake happened. They also dished out soup or rice and beans to the victims.

No,there was no earthquake near my house. So, I don’t know what will happen in my house. My family and I often donate toys and food if there were something bad was happened.

What kinds of things are emergency relief workers providing to Turkish victims of the quake?

I think the emergency of those people is giving the victims more food, money, and more medical care. They need many people’s help, like foreign assistance to build the temporary houses, to help the victims in the rubble and medical treatment. So, they really need the help form everybody.

Has there ever been an earthquake or other type of natural disaster near to where you live?

An earthquake, 921, hit Taiwan in 1999, and it took off 2,415 people’s lives, and made 51.711 houses fall. I think that was so horrible because I was young then. I just could see the films and destoryed houses in the pictures.

Have you or your family ever helped or donated money to people in need?

No, we do not have donated the money to those people because we do not have extra money to help them. But, I am happy to be a volunteer to help them in need.

I can gave them some help such as some comfort cards and some second hand clothes . My strength is probably little, but I can make them feel cheerful. Ican get together with them forever and ever.

2. I had gone through a big typhoon last year. It was really terrible. At that night, the wind was strong, and it rained dogs and cats. The terrible typhoon was scared me much.

3. Yes. My family donated a little money to World Vision. They took the money to help the homeless people, an orphans, or refugees. They did some good things. I am happy.

1After the earthquake, some people dead because they didn’t have any materials. I think they will need some water, food, money, or homes. and I believe that all the houses will be built in some day.

2.One year ago, a typhoon, Fanapi, hit the southern Taiwan, and soon after, our towns were flooding. After the disaster, we cleaned the houses for a long time, and soldiers also came to help us. They’re very smelly. I didn’t go to school because the rain was so heavy. My aunt’s car was broken, too, we’re sad because furniture was broken.

3.Yes. My family donated three thousand dollars to those in need. I saw they were sad because their families were all destoryed. Maybe their property was gone. My family saw them on TV, and we were sad, too.

Hi, I’m Max

The 88 flooding in the south of Taiwan, Pingtung, was a calamity in 2009. It was a typhoon day, and it rained heavily. Some aboriginal tribes like Lai-yi, could not go out because all the roads were cut. They could not go out.

My family donated some money to people in the big 921 earthquake in 1999.

My mother helped the old woman to move things because she wanted to walk up stairs.

When my classmates didn’t go to school, I taught them Math at that moment.

We can give some food and to donate money to help the victims to reconstruct their homes. We can to give them some tents, sleeping bags, water and some daily uses.

1. They helped the people from the rubble of a collapsed apartment buildings. They replaced the houses in the desaster. They delivered some food and tents and water. They also need some heater.

2. There was a serious wind disaster in 2009, 88 wind disater. The water was all over around the south of Taiwan, especially in Lin Bian.

It also affected the trains to shut down for several months. Farmers lost a lot of money. Fishermen lost their fish because many fish swam in the street. The water was so deep that we can't tell where the road is and where the river is.

3. Yes. My family had donated money to the Red Cross. May all the victims' families rebuild their homes and walk out of the pain. Try to his or her best to do something good for the people.

1. I think the most important things for the victims are tents, food and water. After the earthquake, people in Turkey lost their houses. They cannot buy or cook some food for their family. They even don’t have water to drink.

2.Our country had an earthquake on September 21^st, 1999. It was really a big earthquake which caused many people die and lost their houses. The disaster at that time was very terrible.

3.Our family had donated money to Tzu-Chu to help some victims and the detoryed families. Our school launched some donations to help the people in need. I would like to store some money or things to help the victims, like some tents, food and water. Maybe we can donate some money to them from the charity.

HW-Assignment 3, Derek

1. I like the waterfalls because the water is from high place to low place is beautiful and tremendous. I feel it is very spectacular, but the waterfalls in Taiwan are not big enough, so I want to go to another county to see it.

2. I went to Taipei to visit my grandma with my mother this summer vacation. We went to the department stores to buy some toys, jackets, and shoes. We had a lot of fun there. If possible, I want to go to Taipei again next time.

3. I will go to Japan because the view there is beautiful. If I go to Japan, I will go Tokyo because it is cool. But, there are some noise, in addition, Japan often has a lot of earthquakes. Anyway, I like the place and maybe want to live there in the future.

What is the most beautiful thing that you see on the website?

I think the waterfall in Slovenia is most beautiful view that causes my attention. I visited some beautiful waterfalls in Taiwan before. I think the waterfall is a special natural properity in the world.

Does your family ever go on holidays? If they do, where do they go?

My family and I like to go jogging in the mountains on holidays. The mountains are very beautiful and very big, in addition, there are a lot of animals and trees there, so you will feel relax in the mountains.

If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where do you go?

If I can take a trip in anywhere, I will go to nature park in Slovenia. In the park I can chat with people and play with children together. The nature park is the only place that I will go there someday.

HW-Assignment 3, Molly

1. In my eyes, Karstic caves are the most beautiful views in Solvania. It is so special ,amazing ,beautiful, and an unbelievable sight. I hope I can go there someday.

2. My family and I went to Penghu last summer vacation. It is an island where is surround with sea, so you will find different kinds of fish there. My family and I ate a lot of sea food there, so it was the sweetest memory in my mind.

3. If I have much money someday, I will travel around the world to see the impressive things. But, I don’t have much money now, so I think I have better to study hard now.

HW-Assignment 3, Bright

1. I think the most beautiful view in Solvania is the waterfall because there are much strong water when it rains. That will be very beautiful.

2. My family like to bring me to the Ba-Da amusement park on holidays. We always go there in the morning and come back in the afternoon. It was very exciting to play the instruments in the park.

3. I would like to take a trip to New Zealand in the future. It has the blue sky, the green forests, and lots of black and white cows. The people there are nice. I really want to go there.
